Thoughts On A Positive Lifestyle

Written by on March 19, 2021

Over the years I have observed and researched various levels of lifestyles as it pertains to diet, nutrition, stress, exercise, wellness and illness. Dr. Michael P. Lange and I, Dr. Richard Hall, are constantly researching longevity and life extension protocols and the word “lifestyle” is always found in our research. Years ago I noticed a trend where a person would use the term, “growing older”, as the reason, or more likely, the excuse for their poor health and wellness profile. Yes, we are growing older by the minute, that is just the process of life, and there is nothing we can do about it…we can’t stop the clock! However, as we grow older, we do not need to just accept the aches and pains, poor health, lack of energy, mental decline, etc.. as the inevitable process (here is the good news), it is not.

Our body is much like a machine in many ways…it requires maintenance to keep it operating properly…it must be fueled to keep it running…parts may wear out and need to be replaced…and if you do not follow a high level maintenance program, the machine will fail. Our body is the same…we need to fuel it with nutritious foods and supplements…we need to hydrate it…we need to exercise its muscles… it needs downtime for repair, maintenance and rest.

I needed to point out the above points so I can explain this properly…in other words, “I told you that, so I can tell you this” I see people who have given in, and given up, and then blame it on getting old, when really it can be more easily explained as simply “a lifestyle change”. Now this can be a good thing because as I have said for many years, “you choose a lifestyle, and you have control over that lifestyle, but you need to make that change” You can choose to sit in the recliner, or you can choose to exercise…you can choose nutritious food or take the easy way and eat fast food…you can complain, or you can become pro-active…this is the definition of lifestyle, it is what you choose it to be.

A lifestyle should be well thought out and planned…example is, how do you see you yourself in 6 months, a year, five years, ten years? A lifestyle can be simple or complex, it is what you want it to be, but it should feel natural to you, and not stressful all of the time. It should be so natural that you don’t even need to think about it, just like brushing your teeth or drinking a glass of water…you think about doing it, then you just do it without much additional thought.

Develop a healthy lifestyle, one that includes nutritious foods, a supplement program that fits your needs, a mental and physical exercise regimen, health and wellness check-ups, a personal belief/ spiritual mindset, positive and supportive friends and family, and of course, design this lifestyle for you…don’t live someone else’s life.

In summary, lifestyle is chosen, make wise choices, and begin today, your body will thank you. And as always, Dr. Lange, Dr. Hall, and the entire Fortifeye Nutrition Team is here to help you make wise lifestyle choices.

Be healthy my friend,

Dr. Richard Hall PhD SNS CPT
